The owner, Dr Rinda Blom, has extensive training and practical experience in the field of play therapy and emotional intelligence and is a registered social worker. She has a master’s and doctoral degree in Social Work, focusing on play therapy and emotional intelligence. Rinda has more than seventeen years experience in working with children with emotional problems. She also received advanced international training in as well play therapy, as emotional intelligence and is training professionals such as social workers, psychologists and occupational therapists in this field for many years.
Rinda has lectured a master’s degree in play therapy for eight years at the University of the Free State. She is author of the book: The Handbook of Gestalt Play Therapy: Practical guidelines for child therapists, which was published in London, England during 2006. This book is on the list of recommended reading of the Association of Play Therapy in the United States of America. She has done numerous child related workshops, as well as radio talks countrywide. Rinda also acts as consultant for schools when implementing emotional intelligence programmes and is author of several emotional intelligence programmes for children. She has academic honorary colours at two South-African universities and is listed as a top achiever at the Department of Social Work, University of the Free State.
